The Virtual jag
For my final senior project in high school, my classmate Erin Anderson and I created a new way for our school to give visitor tours. The inclusion of VR tours at The Wellington School shows perspective families what the class environment is like and demonstrates that the school is attuned to emerging technologies and opportunities.

Essential Question:
How can we improve the Wellington School visitor tour experience through virtual reality and popular technology?
Following Brand Guidelines
I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with the communications department to create a series of headsets that showcased my artistic style while adhering to the school's strict brand guidelines.
Wellington defines itself as more future reaching and individually designed than other schools in Columbus, OH. I took this into account when planning the patterned design for the headsets.
Pattern Process
When choosing the direction for the pattern design, I started with a linear design however it didn’t feel dynamic. I wanted to stay away from being “systematic” and move closer to Wellington’s self identified title as a school that offers individualized opportunities to students.
As a designer my style is more organic and I felt this would better suite the overall design. The schools mascot is a Jaguar and I used the spots of the animal as inspiration for the pattern.
Brand Personality:
Contagious energy
Inquisitive
Approachable
Daring
After researching companies that print custom branded cardboard viewers, we contacted Unofficial Cardboard Inc. Ten total headsets were printed because perspective families normally come in groups of two and this would allow the tour to accommodate five families.

Mock-ups
Virtual Reality is a relatively new technology, so apart of the project I learned about how the 360° cameras worked, how to edit the footage and which camera would be the best to use for the presentation.
Research
For the final presentation on SIP Night, two videos were recorded as demos for the new visitor tour experience.
Glass Art: Students were finishing up their final window designs by soldering the pieces together.
Morning Meeting: A meeting held everyday before classes where students and faculty can share with the community.
